  • Monarchy is a type of government where supreme power is held by a single person. There are two types of monarchy, constitutional and absolute. Constitutional monarchy is when the king/queen is seen more as a figure and they are not really making the rules or laws. Absolute monarchy is when the king/queen are in control of the laws and rules. An example of constitutional monarchy today is the UK and their Queen, Queen Elizabeth.
  • Communism
  • A democracy is a type of government where a group of people make the rules and control the country. There are two types of democracies Direct and Representative. A direct democracy is where people vote for the laws and rules. A representative democracy is where people vote for a group of people that will make the decisions/rules/laws for them. Some examples of representative democracies are the US, Norway, Sweden and many more!
  • Oligarchy
  • A dictatorship is a type of government where one person or party have control over the country, normally their power is overbearing and imperious. An example of a dictatorship were the Nazi's from Germany that remained in power from1933 to 1945.
  • Anarchy
  • Communism is a type of government where a system creates a society where everyone is the same, there are no differences between anyone's belongings and knowledge!! Some countries that are communists today are Cuba and Vietnam.
  • An Oligarchy is a type of government where a person or group of people with higher status (wealthier) bribe or pay the government to make laws or rules for their own benefits. An example of Oligarchy is Russia, where many people became millionaires after the Soviet Union collapse.
  • Anarchy is a type of government where there are no rule for laws there is also no certain government or person in. Everyone can do whatever they want, whenever they want. This can make a LOT of chaos!!! Some examples of Anarchy are Algeria, Argentina and Australia.
