  • Female sea lions will pick a spouse and mate with him. The sea lion's second stage is when it gives birth, commonly known as breeding. Sea lions tend to mate and give birth at a rocky beach. Bada boom bada bam, and there came our lovely friend, Jamal.
  • Hey, I'm Jamal Jackson. As you could probably guess, I am a sea lion, belonging in the genus of "Zalophus."
  • Hey fellas, My name is Meng, and I am a seal, professionally know as the creatures apart of the genus, Phoca. I do not flap my ears, don't yell loudly, nor do I walk using my flippers. I instead wiggle my belly to move. It really is a struggle.
  • The difference between me and Meng is that I have prominent ear flaps, I am extremely loud and I walk using my massive flippers!
  • Anyways, i am only a pup, meaning that I am just a baby. I need to be around 5-6 years old as a male sea lion, to reach full maturity. However, when I reach around 14 months old, I will be self-sufficient.

  • Jamal Jackson goes on an adventure because he thought it would be a great time to start his own family. Let's all hope Jamal doesn't run into a killer whale, Orca or a shark. Let's all pray that he runs into something like fish, cabs, clams or squid since those are the major preys of sea lions.
  • Jesus got me.....
  • My thick, oily coat and my covering layers of fat got me!
  • Sea lions have developed an unique evolutionary trait that allows them to keep a high blood temperature in the cold sea.
  • Today's temperature: -15 degrees#160;
  • I am able to walk quite quickly on shore thanks to my gigantic flippers. Unlike seals, I do not need to wiggle my stomach as much as them due to the strength and sturdiness of my flippers.
  • Quick fact! Did you know that backyard scuba diving gears were modeled after the swim fins of sea lions? That is how reliable their flippers are.
