- The third estate broke from the estate system and renamed itself national assembly. they vowed to change France by establishing a representative government.

- The legislative assembly struggled to pass reforms, faced the threat of war from other European nations and had to deal with economic issues. Therefore, the Legislative Assembly dissolved in September of 1792 and was replaced by the much more radical National Convention.

- after the law of suspects passed, people would name anyone they thought was a suspect against Robespierre or the revolution. about 17,000 people were beheaded without evidence.
- napoleons foreign policies were invading the rest of Europe to solidify the creation of a French empire, invading Russia, and other wars. the domestic policies were creating military schools, abolish random arrests, and all citizens being equal.
