- One major theme on monsters are do on maple street by Rod Serling is Mankind is its worst enemy.For example les good mans tried to start his car but it did not work at first but Then .His car started by itself and everyone thought that he was the alien. So they did not know what do with him but he said he has sleep amnesia. That is why he is up so late but they did not believe him and wanted to kick him out of Maple Street.Second example is when charlie shot van horn. Van Horn was coming back and charlie shot him because he thought it was a alien but they said charlie lets see who is it he said no and shot Van Horn. Then when he went to go look at it he saw who just shot and said I did not know it was Pete Van Horn.Then they turn on charlie and charlie blame tommy and tommy said "No its not me" and they said chasing him and trying to get him and some people turn to charlie and they try to get him then the street broke into chaos
