*Brabantio absolutely flaming because he discovered Desdemona's and Othello's marriage and claims that Othello drugged or spelled his daughter because she's not capable of "making such a detestable decision as marrying outside her race" *
"The devil must be behind this. Therefore I say again he(Othello) must have used some powerful drug or magic potion on her."
i didnt do any of this, she loves me for me
The connection between these two slides is interracial relationships and parents' approval. When Brabantio gets word of Desdemona and Othello's marriage, he automatically accuses Othello of drugging, spelling, or poisoning Desdemona because she is too perfect to be with a man like Othello. In the modern-day slide, this is a man bringing home his new girlfriend to meet his parents. They are an interracial couple, but this doesn't matter to the parents. We are all one race, the human race; no need to get worked up about skin color. The parents are happy because their son is happy.
We're so glad you're happy and we are happy for you both! Lovely to meet you, Andrea.
