In this scene, we are introduced to our characters and the situation. Desdamona and Othello have secretly gotten married and Desdamona's father, Brabantio, has gone to the Duke to complain. There is also Roderigo, who informed Brabantio in the first place. We also learn that our characters are going to Cypress, where the rest of the story takes place
CLIMAX
Here, we learn of Othello's insecurities and his problem in his trust in Desdamona's love for him. These insecurites are the main reason for everything that will later take place.
FALLING ACTION
Iago is now informing Othello of his "suspicions" that Cassio and Desdamona are having an affair. It will sow the seed of doubt and set the stage for the climax and end result of the story.
DENOUEMENT
At the climax of the story, Othello makes his final decision which is the point of no return. He tells Iago to kill Cassio, and has decided that he himself will kill Desdamona.
Othello has followed through and killed Desdamona, resolving his conflict and the climax.
Finally everything is revealed and othello is so devastated that he kills himself. All the loose ends of the story are wrapped up and all the truths that need to be revealed are revealed.
