Storyboard Text
- Both father and his son walk alone in a world devoid of humanity, helpless and empty. They travel toward the south down a road with just a shopping cart full of almost nothing. They also have couple-to-none supplies and the boy's old wind-up penguin toy. Everything is so cold and burnt, blackness and coals of forest fires with the abandonment of buildings, and animals have turned extinct. Life is almost as if it were dead, but a man and boy strive for survival.
- While the son is sleeping the dad thinks about his wife saying the boy is the only thing that is keeping him alive and that the boy was all that stood between him and death. The father then reaches out to see if the boy his sleeping beside him.
- The man and the boy are considered the good guys but of course there are bad guys called the red scarves that hunt people down as food for survival. While walking they come across a 'bad guy and he keeps staring at the little boy. The guy ends up getting the boy and holds him by the neck , so the father shoots him with his pistol leaving him with one bullet left. For days the little boy doesn't talk.
- Desperate for food , the man started to go into house for food. The father failed to realize that their is a box near the house that alerts the owners that someone new thatarrives. Inside the house they discovered a room full of humans trapped so the owners can have them for food. Although they managed to get out before the house owners arrived.
- Throughout the novel they were left with no humanity and nothing good ever happened to them accept when they found a bunker. They discovered a bunch of canned food around and enough food to survive. They stayed there for a while until the supplies were almost done.
- Day by day the man kept getting weaker and weaker and they boy noticed it. At this point in the novel the boy has become more independent because he has witnessed so much. Later on, the old man dies in the middle of the forest. A man had came up to the little boy, and he was a family of 4. The family takes him as one of their own and convinces the little boy that they are good people.
