- The husband asks his wife Mary to sit down and told her he wants to get leave her for another women. She offered to get supper for him because she thought she was dreaming when he said that. He said " for gods sake, dont make me supper for me. Im going out." Mary simply walked up behind him and without a pause just swung. She swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head. He crashed to the ground after five seconds.
- Mary maloney the main character of the story was waiting for her husband to come home from work. Mary maloney was a normal loving and caring pregnant house wife. She loved and cared for her husband Patrick Maloney. The main setting of this short story is the living room of Mary and patricks house.
