At the age of 23, I met this amazing girl and I asked her out on a date to an Italian restaurant in the city. She said yes and I wore my best clothes to try and impress her. I picked her up and we drove into the city. She looked great and I was so happy that such a beautiful girl said yes to me. She told me she’s studying to be an eye doctor. She said that my pupils were dilated when I looked at her. She then explained to me that my pupils control the amount of light that enters into my eyes. She also told me that when you look at someone you really like, your pupils dilate. The waiter asked what I wanted to eat and I told him I wanted Penne alla Vodka. When our food came, I noticed that the pasta was a little salty, one of the 5 basic tastes. We ended the night off by getting ice cream and she told me she wants to go on another date.

Years later now me and my newly wedded wife Celine grew a family together showing our contribution to the world. Together we raised 2 amazing kids, our first born daughter, Chanel, and our second born son, Louis. After taking advice from other friends we were suggested that the best parenting strategy for our children at a young age was to have them learn through observational learning. This means to let our children learn based on the actions we show them. We found that this was a great method for our childrens toddler years. Although for the teenage years we were suggested that enforcing negative punishments would be most effective. This is when you take away something to decrease behavior. For example, when Chanel would get bad grades we would take away her phone privileges. But, when we saw this method wasn't efficient we decided to research our own strategies for Louis. For Louis we enforce positive reinforcements. This is when you add something good to increase behavior. Therefore, when we saw Louis get good grades we would reward him with new privileges. This seemed to motivate him to constantly work harder increasing his scores. I learned this method from my mother and on how she used to raise me growing up.

Growing older things began to change. When Celine passed away I had little interest in any activities and I didn't feel like doing anything ever. With the help of my two children who are now in their 30s I was sent to a doctor and was diagnosed with Major Depression Disorder after explaining all my symptoms. Major Depression Disorder is when something in your life may cause you to go through severe depressed moods for periods of time. This depression caused me to have a severe loss of energy and little pleasure or happiness. After beginning my therapy process, I stuck to the humanistic therapy approach. I focused on the Active Listening aspect which is when my therapist, Dr. Carl Rogers, would listen to my thoughts. It was easy to talk to him because no matter what he would never judge me or tell me what to do but let me just free float in my own head. Now, living in this retirement home, it became easier for me to express my story to the new generation. Looking back on my life through the ups and the downs I am very proud of the high achieving life I lived and am very glad I can spend the rest of my life reflecting on it to the new Skibidi Sigma Rizz generation.
