- The narrator´s mother and the narrator go to America to have a nice life. They leave China and become to America
- The narrator's mother wants a good future for her daughter. And the narrator thought it was a great idea

- Maybe if you practice piano you can be someone in life daughter

- The narrator practices piano lessons with a teacher. While practicing he realizes how boring it is and begins to think that he will not be able to do it
- Before doing the piano work he practices very little and at the time of doing the piano work he gets distracted by the little he practiced and gets confused, but since his teacher was deaf he began to applaud while the public was disappointed.

- They argue with the narrator's mother at home about why he did the piano work very badly and the daughter says that he studied little. The mother knows that inside she is a good person only that she has no dreams to achieve
- After a few years her mother passed away and left her a gift at the age of 30. The daughter opened her mother's gift and it was a piano and she realized that her mother was right that she could be a good pianist there.
