- The mom is getting mad at her baby because she keeps dropping the ball. She is yelling at her and the baby is getting scared and is wondering if she can trust her mom if she ever drops anything. 
- Infancy: trust vs mistrust
- The kid is starting to do everything by herself and wants to be independent. 
- Do you want me to help you wash your hands?
- Autonomy vs Shame and doubt 1-3 yrs
- No me!
- I'm starting to like math!
- The kids are now starting to find what their interest is and what they are good at. And is sharing their interest with others. 
- I like science the best!
- Industry vs Inferiority 6-12 yrs
- The teen is hanging out with a group of friends and is trying to fit in because she hasn't yet found her identity. 
- Identity vs role confusion 12-18 yrs 
- Do I fit into this group? 
- Initiative vs guilt 3-6 yrs: child begins to initiate tasks and plans in play, or initiative is help back by guilt. ex: when a kid is playing with all his toys and his mother yells at him to clean his mess. Now the boy is feeling down and quilt because he made his mother mad. intimacy vs isolation 18-35 yrs: young adults develop intimate relationships, or they experience isolation. ex: when we can make a long-term commitment we are confident but if we can't make a intimate commitment then we will feel isolated. Generativity vs stagnation 35-65 yrs: adults seek to generate a legacy that can be passed to future generations, or they struggle with stagnation. ex: when we think we can lead the next generation but if we didn't resolve some conflicts earlier then we will experience stagnation. Ego integrity vs despair 65 -death: older adults contemplate their life and either feel a sense of integrity and happiness, or they feel despair and failure. ex: when we ask ourselves of what we didn't in the past and see if we did well - integrity. But if not then we will feel despair.
