- My name is Yeh-Shen. I have a stepmother and a stepsister, they are very mean to me. My parents died when i was younger so i have to live with them. I have no friends except for a fish I caught and raised. 
- I came back home and I went to go see my fish but he wasn´t there. Later a man come to me and told me that my stepmother had killed my fish for dinner. He told me that my fish had magical powers and if i wanted something i could ask the bones. I started crying because my pet fish was my only friend. 
- I miss my fish so much. 
- I went outside and I heard people talking about the spring festival and that the prince was going to be there. I really wanted to go but my stepmother wouldn´t let me go. Maybe I will ask my fish bones for help.
- did you hear about the festival?
- I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE FESTIVAL!!
- I go to ask my fish bones for new clothes for the festival. He gives me a pair of shoes and tells me to not lose them or else something terrible would happen and that i would turn back to my old self again. 
- Do not lose these shoes. 
- I get to the spring festival and I see my stepmother and my step sister. They almost say me so i ran out and i accidently lost one of my shoes while running. Once I got home I went to go talk to my fish bones but they were gone. I start crying because the fish bones are my only friend. Later I heard that the prince was trying to figure out whose pair of shoes so late at night I go. 
- The shoe fits me perfectly and the king sees. He falls in love with me and I fall in love with him. We get married and my step mother and step sister stay in the cave home while I get to stay in a palace and later they die.
