  • 1337 - 1453
  • This was a series of battles between France and England about whether or not England owned France and could rule over them. Towards the end of the 116 years of fighting, a young, French serf, Joan of Arc turned the tides on the British and does something incredible.

  • It all started in 1337 when King Philip VI of France tried to capture Guyenne, an English-controlled space in southern France. Meanwhile, King Edward III of England took over the French throne which caused more ruckus.

  • The Hundred Years War was more of several small wars all summed up in one bit. At the beginning, the English won most of the battles like the Battle of Crecy and the Battle of Agincourt. They won with the assistance of a new weapon.

  • The English army had won countless battles with the help of a new weapon, the longbow. This was a new mechanism that could pierce a knights thick army effortlesslyfrom miles away!

  • Treaty of Troyes
  • After another English victory at Agincourt, the French signed a treaty called, the Treaty of Troyes (1420) which enameled King Henry V to heir the French throne. After he died, England and France were at war once again on who was going to take over.

  • After another dispute went out, a young French girl was about to become a major factorof the war. She started having visions when she was younger of pastors and saints and later on they became more and more realistic and started to predictthe future. This was exactly what the French needed for a successful victory.
