- "I hear how he talks about me, he thinks I'm lazy and am going to be a failure."
- Biff is telling Happy how he can hear what his dad says about him and his success. It hurts his feelings and creates tension between the two. Happy tries to talk to Biff about life and their plans for the future.

- "Not finding yourself at the age of thirty-four is a disgrace!""Biff is a lazy bum!"
- "He's finding himself, Willy"
- Willy is talking to Kinda about how he think Biff is lazy and not doing anything to become successful. He shows his irritation to Biff as well in how he talks to his son. All he wants is for Biff to settle down and find a way to make a living.

- "I'm going to talk to Bill Oliver and see if he'll take me up on a business"
- "That is a one million dollar idea!"
- Biff is telling Willy how he is leaving early tomorrow morning to go see Bill Oliver. Biff plans to go into business with Oliver and take him up on an idea. Biff and Happy were thinking of doing sporting goods together. Willy thinks its a great idea.
