- I'm just wondering about the different types of bones? I heard there are at least 3 different kinds in the skeletal system?

- Can you tell me about them please starting with the short?
- There's actually 4 different types of bones. They are the short, Long, irregular and flat
- Yeah sure thing. The short bone are small bones that are made up of spongey bone, they are mostly located in the hands and feet
- Whoa thanks, what about the long bone?
- The long bones are hard and dense and they provide strength, structure and mobility
- Despite being small long bones are actually in your fingers as well
- Nice nice now tell me about flats and irregulars
- Flat bones are made up of a layer of spongey bone between two thin layers of compact bone
- Irregulars vary in shapes and sizes that's why its its own category, they mainly protect internal organs
