- Most of these rocks are granite, an igneous rock formed from cooled magma.
- What kind of rocks are these?

- See the large crystals in this granite? They formed as the magma cooled slowly beneath the Earth's surface.

- The predominant mineral here is quartz, which is usually white or colorless and very hard.
- What about these other minerals?

- They were created by fault-block formation. The Teton Fault caused the Earth's crust to break and tilt, forming these sharp peaks.
