Spiritual Truth The spiritual truth in Acts 8:26–40 is that God leads His people to share the good news of Jesus with others who are ready to receive it. When Philip was told by an angel to go to a desert road, he obeyed right away, even though he didn’t know why. On that road, he met an Ethiopian official who was reading a passage from the book of Isaiah but didn’t understand what it meant. Philip explained that the scripture was about Jesus’ suffering and how He died to save us. After hearing this, the Ethiopian believed in Jesus and asked to be baptized immediately. This shows that when people clearly hear and understand the message of Jesus, their hearts are changed, and they respond with faith.

How it applies to the students? This story applies to students because it reminds us that God can use anyone, including teens, to share His message. Like Philip, students should listen for God’s direction, even if it feels unexpected or uncomfortable. Sometimes God puts us in the right place at the right time to help someone. The Ethiopian man was educated and important, but he still admitted that he needed help understanding Scripture. This teaches students that it’s okay to ask questions about faith and that learning leads to transformation. The Ethiopian didn’t just learn something new—he acted on it and made a public decision to follow Jesus. Students today can live out their faith by helping others understand God’s Word, praying, reading the Bible, and being bold about what they believe, just like Philip.
