- Ms Lockton and Lady Seymour were at the parlor together, and Ms Lockton sent Isabel to serve Mr Lockton and his friends in the library. When she peeked through the door, she saw that the chest that Ms Lockton had her undergarments in, was actually full of money. The money is for anyone that is willing to switch to the loyalist side.
- This money is for any rebel that is willing to switch sides! They also get 2 acres of land. Any rebel with a wife or kids gets extra acres of land!
- Isabel sneaks out to tell Curzon the events that happened that day. She waits for Ruth to fall asleep and thinks of the excuse that she had to go to the bathroom if she gets caught. When she avoids all the soldiers and finds Bellingham's house. When she finds Curzon, she tells him about the chest.
- The chest that Madam Lockton "has her garments in," actually has money that Mr Lockton will be giving to any rebel that is willing to switch sides.

- Bellingham arrives at the Lockton's house, with the intention to arrest Mr Lockton for the chest with the money used for bribing rebels. To do so, they break the windows apart, claiming they are looking for lead to make bullets. They try to get to the chest with money in it, but Mr Lockton hid a false bottom in the drawer, which is what actually contains the money.
