The theme of "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" Is mankind is its own worst enemy. Evidence that proves this is when everybody said in unison "It must have been him, he's the one, we got to get Charlie". This evidence supports the theme because they are saying Charlie is the monster when only having small clues. My next piece of evidence to support my theme is when Don says "it's Charlie he's the one". This provides aid to my theme because they are blaming Charlie just so they can find a scapegoat. My last piece of evidence is when figure one says "understand the procedure now? Just stop a few of their machines, radios, telephones, and lawn mowers. Then, you just sit back and watch the pattern. This part of evidence assists my analysis because it is proving if you alter just a few things, you can have humanity turn on itself. In conclusion, the theme of "Monsters Are Due On Maple street" is Mankind is its own worst enemy.
