Since a kid I've loved learning. Growing up with ADHD shaped the way I learned, but science and history were my favorite subjects. When something caught my interest, I could spend hours learning about it and would become completely absorbed in the topic. Science felt so easy and exciting.

I don't understand anything I just read
SScience was harder for me when I was not interested in the topic or if I had to listen for long periods of time. It would begin to start feeling difficult. I learned best when lessons were engaging, hands-on, or gave me something interesting to investigate.

Science is so much fun outdoors!
Most of my formal science learning happened at school, but I also experienced science in everyday life. Nature made me realize that science is not limited to a classroom .These everyday experiences helped me see science as something that connected to real life.

Don't you just love science!!
My experiences as a student have influenced me into being the the kind of teacher I wanted as a kid. I know what it feels like to be deeply engaged when a topic sparks my interest, but also struggle to focus. I want to create lessons that are interactive, meaningful, and accessible to different learners. I want my students to feel curious, capable, and comfortable asking questions.

I believe science should be taught in a way that encourages curiosity, exploration, and active learning. Students should have opportunities to ask questions, make predictions, investigate ideas, and learn from mistakes. As a future teacher, I want to create a classroom where students can find something in science that sparks their interest and makes them excited to learn.
