Orpheus was playing his lyre in front of his house. The lyre soothed savage beasts and moved rocks and stones.
Eurydice the girl Orpheus liked was out frolicking in the woods and got bitten by a snake. Orpheus was saddened by this news.
Both Eurydice and the snake died. Hades the god of the underworld came and took Eurydice to the underworld where the three-headed dog Cerberus and the skeleton Charon were.
Orpheus was saddened by the news about Eurydice, so he hung up his lyre. But one day he had an idea and he was determined to find the underworld where Eurydice was. He went out into the mountains and played his lyre and a rock moved. It was the entrance to the underworld.
Orpheus stepped inside the cave and came face to face with the three-headed dog Cerberus. Orpheus played his lyre which soothed Cerberus and he slipped by him. Then Orpheus came face to face with Charon, an eerie skeleton, but once again Orpheus played his lyre which soothed the skeleton. He then walked down the rest of the tunnel.
Orpheus calls out to Hades and asks if he can take Eurydice with him. Hades says no and threatens Orpheus, but Orpheus played his lyre before leaving and Hades agreed for her to go with Orpheus. Hades tells Orpheus that he can not look or speak to her until they get outside or the deals off. They are almost out the entrance of the cave, but Orpheus decides to look at Eurydice before they get outside but she dodges his gaze. Orpheus yells Eurydice but ended up being fooled by Hades and Hades then leads Eurydice to the resort.
Orpheus went back to playing his Lyre but they were sad songs and he taught the rest of the world the sound of saddness.
