The peasant girl won me my throne!!!
Finally, Charles is king!
Joan heard voices of the saints, St. Catherine, St. Margaret, and St. Michael, at the age of thirteen. After a while, they told her to go to Charles the Dauphin and tell him some news that would save France.

After much debating, she got an army and went to save France... from the English. Joan fought many battles. She was wounded once in the shoulder. She was always anxious to get out and fight.

Joan was an excellent general. With God on her side, the French took control of Orleans. The English were losing. Charles became king.
In June, Joan was captured. She was turned over to the English. She spent many months in prison. Joan was accused unfairly and tried unjustly. Charles did not come to her aid.
On May 30, Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. She is now a saint. The English thought they would win, now that Joan was dead, but the French eventually recovered France and kicked out the English. Without Joan, all would have been lost.
