- lets just see if the cave owner comes back I want to meet him .
- "Why not take these cheeses get them stowed,come back, throw open all of the pens, and make a run for it"(Homer 9 127-128).
- "Have a care for the gods' courtesy ;Zeus will avenge the unoffending guest"(Homer 9.174-175).
- "We cyclops care not a whistle for your thundering Zeus"(Homer 9. 178-179).
- "I held this in the fire's heart and turned it, toughening it , then hid it, well back in the cavern"(Homer 235-236).
- I hope this works if not we are all going to die.
- Odysseus and his men find the cyclops cave and his men tell him that they should just grab all of the items and go but Odysseus says not he wants to meet the cave owner.
- My name is Nohbody, that's what everyone calls me.
- ,"They sprinted, lifted it, and rammed it deep in his crater eye, and I leaned on it turning it as a shipwright turns a drill"(Homer 9.291-293).

- Odysseus tells the Cyclops where he came from and the cyclops doesn't care at all he calls Odysseus a ninny and eats two of his men,"Neither reply nor pity came from him, but in one stride he clutched at my companions and caught two in his hands like squirming puppies"(Homer 9. 191,192,193).
- Ugh where are they!!!
- Odysseus decides that he can't risk losing any more men so he plans on hurting the cyclops by blinding him so he talks to his men and sets up the plan. He is going to get the Cyclops drunk and then stab him in the eye with a pole,"Now I chopped out a six-foot section of this pole"(Homer 9. 230-231).
- If ever mortal man inquire how you were put to shame and blinded tell him Odysseus, raider of cities took your eye"(Homer 9 417-420)!!!
- Odysseus needs to trick the cyclops so they make him drunk, "Cyclops try so wine. Here's liquor to wash down your scraps of men"(Homer 9. 255-256). The cyclops wants to know Odysseus's name so he tells him,"everyone calls me Nohbody"( Homer 9. 275). and then he and his men stab the cyclops in the eye and it ends up blinding him.
- Odysseus and his men could kill the cyclops but they know they couldn't move the big boulder in front of the door so instead, they just hook themselves under the sheep and now the cyclops cant' see them escape. if they are under the sheep. He is only going to feel on top.
- Odysseus and some of his men make it back to the ship and then Odysseus taunts the Cyclops and tells him his real name. That was not the smartest decision.
