Prometheus then quickly sprints to the mountain, hoping he can get there in time. He saw what was happening to the things and people he loved because of him. He finally reached the peak of the mountain, but had no sight of his brother. His eyes widened in fear he was too late. In the corner of his eye, he spotted his brother being carried by mortals, getting closer to the fire. He pleaded for them to stop, but it was too late.
As if the whole world turned quiet, Prometheus found himself running for Zeus’ thunderbolt that lay there on the floor unguarded. As soon as he grabbed the bolt, Zeus appeared from the sky, killing all the mortals, all the fish, birds, and animals. The bolt suddenly disappeared from his hands, appearing in Zeus’ hands. Hephaestus and Athena then watched their father levitate down from the sky, laughing at Prometheus. “This is all your fault Prometheus”.
“All of this is your fault. You were too selfish and this was the outcome. Because of what you did, I will let you live as a punishment. You will be locked up and no one will ever know the clever titan who once created and loved these creatures.” Zeus did exactly that and Prometheus stayed locked up, mourning man, but mostly mourning his poor brother who had nothing to do with this and only adored his older brother.
