  • Then he sold sweets and newspapers on the train
  • At the age of 7, he began elementary school, but dropped out after three months. His mother taught him at home
  • Thomas was born in Ohio and had 6 siblings. Then they moved to Michigan
  • He also started selling vegetables and soon after he also printed and sold his own newspaper
