Haden Edwards retrieves the Nacogdoches Land Grant from the Mexican Government in 1825.
Fredonian Rebellion
Go attack Old Stone Fort!
Yes sir!
Edwards asks setters if they have legal land titles for where they live, many said no.
Fredonian Rebellion
Edwards declares his son-in-law as mayor of Nacogdoches. The Tejanos don't like this and complain to the Mexican government. The Mexican government assigns a new mayor, which angers Benjamin Edwards to write letters to the Mexican government. This makes Haden Edwards lose his grant.
Fredonian Rebellion
Oh no!
What will happen to us?
On 12/6/1826 the Edwards brothers led an army of 15-30 men to attack Old Stone Fort.
With the help of Stephen F. Austin the riot was over in 1827.
Retreat!
The Mexicans worried about what the Anglo Americans would do to them next. What Haden Edwards did sparked their attention to do something which leads into the Law of April 6, 1830.
