- CLASS DISMISSED! Signup sheets for the writing club are hanging on the gym bulletan board.
- In that moment, Abe felt a tug on his heart. He pondered the words of his friend, Anna, and the urge and the urge he felt to pray and give God a chance. He just wondered why God couldn't reach out to him first.
- I know what Anna would want me to put my name down... and deep down, I want that too. I need courage, but I can't muster it on my own. I guess I'll give God a chance.
- "Jesus... please give me the courage to take this step"
- At the start of this story, Abe has a difficult time giving his worries and problems to God. He attempts to carry this burden on his own but quickly comes to the realization that he cannot muster the courage he needs on his own. In response to this, he eventually gives up and decides to give God a chance.Abe says a short, yet heartfelt, prayer petitioning God to give him the courage he needs to take this next step at his new school. Prayer, being one of the pillars of Lent, is important in our daily lives because we cannot carry our own burdens as demonstrated in this story. In conclusion, prayer is crucial in our lives, especially during Lent.
