- Who
- Hi, I'm Huldrych Zwingli. I was born 1st January 1484. I lived in Toggenburg, Switerzland. I trained as influential theologian and a dynamic political leader.
- Here is a little bit about myself. I became critical of the catholic church. He notedsome abuses and his interpretations of the Bible led him to believe that Catholicism was wrong in some of its practices.
- What
- I did a preliminary state where souls go to cleansed before entering heaven. Luther and I saw many abuses in the practice in which Catholic officials that sold indulgence documents to raise money for the Church.
- When
- I was a reformer for 47 years was a leader ofreformation in Switzerland. The reformation spread to other parts of the Swiss confederationbut several cantons resisted, preferring to remain Catholic. In his firstpublic controversy in 1522, he attacked the custom of fasting during lent. Meanwhile, my ideas came to the attention of Martin Luther and otherreformers.
