  • 1. Have you guys ever wondered why objects randomly stop?
  • 2. Yes actually, i've noticed that if something starts to move, at a certain point it will always stop .
  • Well, of course! This all relates to newtons first law which is that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force.
  • Basically, what i'm trying to say is that objects that at rest remain at rest, and objects in motion remain in motion with the same velocity, unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
  • Huh?
  • Of course you guys don't understand.
  • Let me illustrate it for you...
  • Imagine yourself in a car that is moving on a constant speed and you're wearing your seatbelt. Suddenly you crash and you notice that once the seatbelt senses a collision, it locks in place...
  • When the car crashes, there is no unbalanced force acting on the person, so they continue forward.
  • Basically, wearing a seatbelt in a car while driving is an example of newtons 1st law of motion. If an accident occurs, or if the brakes are applied to the car, suddenly the body will tend to continue its inertia and move forward, probably proving fatal.
  • OH we get it now!
