- *A warm and sunny spring afternoon*
- Terry the Tree! Can you help me understand what you plants do to produce food and energy?!
- Of course I can! Us plants all go through photosynthesis!
- Photosynthesis is the process where we use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to then make our food and other products.
- What is that??
- Yep that's right.! Photosynthesis is the cellular respiration of plants. But since we go through different cycles, they are different in some ways too.
- Cool! SO you guys don't go through cellular respiration at all?
- Well, in cellular respiration, all you animals and humans take in glucose and oxygen to produce carbon dioxide, water, and ATP breaking down the glucose during the way. This happens in the mitochondria. However in photosynthesis, plants take in and breathe out the opposite taking place in the cholorplast
- Really? How
- So, they tie together because during photosynthesis, we use most of the products of cellular respiration to go through the process, And then in cellular respiration...
- ...we use the photosynthesis products to carry out!
