  • - Widows needed partners to maintain their home and children so they remarried quickly.- The 13 colonies settled on the Atlantic Coast of America- Mayflower Compact and Boston Massacre happened during this period.
  • Enlightenment (1750-1800)
  • -The goals of rational humanity were considered to be knowledge, freedom, and happiness.- Europe Historians place the Enlightenment in-The American and French Revolutions happened during this period.
  • American Gothic (1800-1865)

  • Transcendentalism (1840-1860)

  • - They wore dresses in this period where there were often two piece gowns. Also wore sleeves were set low, necklines were set high, and collars and cuffs.-Realism was an artistic movement that emerged in France.-The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand
