  • Take breaks when you get tired and can’t concentrate enough to continue working on the assignment. The breaks shouldn’t last too long (5-10 mins)You should review all the information you already know to not end up with new information but forget the information you already knew.Have something to help you when you study. For example, a snack, drink, or something to fidget with.
  • DOs vs DON'Ts
  • Know that the brain and body need time to rest and recharge. This can be through sleeping, eating, etc. Take notes on pen and paper. It can help you remember better than writing it online.Don’t only remember concepts but understand them. This is very important especially for math.Use mind maps to understand and connect topics to one another.
  • DOs vs DON'Ts
  • Flowtime method: A study method where you work on something until you grow tired or before taking a break. This process is repeated until you’ve completed your assignment or you’re too tired for another session.
  • Pomodoro technique: A quite popular study method. Study or work on an assignment for about 45 minutes and take a break 10 minutes after. After the break has ended you continue studying again for another 45 mins, then repeat. Or you can do the same process with a 25 minute study time and a 5-minute break.

  • Batching: This is where you group up similar tasks to complete them all at once before you take a break. This would work if you have many short/small assignments or things to do. This method will help you finish many things in just one time of the day rather than splitting up tasks for the whole day. For example, you spread it like, math homework in the morning, science in the afternoon, and design at night, with this method you group everything together and do all 3 of your homework in the morning.

  • Blurting: You can do this if writing notes doesn’t help you. After reading your textbook, grab a piece of paper and pen and write all the information you remember and understand. Do this without looking at the textbook. After you’re done writing, open back your textbook and quickly find the things you haven’t mentioned in the paper you wrote on. Circle or write it down and study the parts you’ve forgotten. If you don’t want to write, record your voice or write on a google document.
