- Cuban Missile Crisis
- World War II started  in 1939 and ended in 1941. Started by Germany invading Poland, making Britain and France declare war. The US didn't join into this war until Japan attack Pearl Harbor. In this picture Germany is invading Poland and the people of Poland are running in fear.
- Vietnam War
- The Cold War is a war between the US and the Soviet Union. The US and the Soviet Union have never got along but during the Cold War the Soviet Union was trying to make more communists countries. The US looked at this war as a way to stop communisms.
- Iran Hostage Crisis
- The Cuban Missile Crisis was in 1962. The Soviet Union placed nuclear missiles on Cuba.
- 9/11 Terrorist Attacks
- The Vietnam War started in 1964 when communist invade South Vietnam.  This war made everyone fear of communists and made the US pass the war power resolution act.
- The Iran Hostage Crisis was in 1979. This event was caused by Iran holding the US embassy hostage for 444 days.
- The 9/11 terrorist attack is when terrorist boarded US plans  and made them crash into Washington DC and New York this was on September 1 of 2001. This was a very dark time for Americans.
