  • Ever since Alex Lopez was recognized as the first olympic athlete with down syndrome, he has continuously spread awareness about genetic disorders which later on sparked a movement towards fighting discrimination against them.
  • How are you now that you are a retired Olympic athlete with Down Syndrome, Mr. Alex?

  • First of all,I'd like to say that I shouldn't be known for my genetic disorder because it is not what defines me. Second, I could say that now i'm a full-time father to my kids and a good husmband to my wife.
  • Mr. Alex Lopez, the founder of The National Organization for Athletes with Down Syndrome (NOADS), celebrates the 37th founding anniversary of his non-profit organization. They advocate for acceptance and identity among people with down syndrome and genetic disorders.
  • This ends the biography of the well-loved advocate of Down Syndrome in the 1950's. Alex Lopez, you will be remembred not only your talent and recognition. The public will remember not only for you as a person that brought change and defined all odds.
