  • My dear Fortunato, you are luckily met. I just heard there were selling a cask of wine called Amontillado.
  • Upon the thousand injures and insults said upon me, Which I had borne as best I could. Today I get my REVENGE!!
  • Impossible! I don't believe it! Let us go to your vault
  • I can see that you are not well and the catacombs/vaults are wet and damp. I can go and talk to Luchresi.
  • Plus Luchresi cannot tell Amontillado from Sherry. HAHAHAHA

  • Fortunato was chained to the wall as Montresor prepared to encase him in.

  • After putting the remaining bricks into place, he listens to Fortunato's cries of plea and for help. And knew —his revenge was complete because nobody would find this place for centuries to come. Thus, putting the last brink in place, completing the wall, his mission, and trapping Fortunato to die a cruel and merciless death from dehydration and starvation.
