- Creon and his  prophet has told me that I am the one who killed Laius. 
- A prophet told Laius that I would bear a child and he would kill his father and marry his mother. But Laius had been killed where three roads met by a group. And we had sent a shepherd to leave the child on a mountain to die. 
- Do not listen to prophets they do not know what the future is.
- Polybus is dead and the people want you to come back to Corinth and rule. 
- Yes, a herdsman had brought me you still when a baby. I brought you to them because they had no child.

- I still can not go back with my mother alive and risking marrying her even though I did not kill my father.
