Storyboard Text

  • My name is Amelia Earhart, I was born on July 24, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas and died on 5 January, 1939. Before I died, I flew across Toronto, Canada, and so much more places. My father Edward, my mother Amy and my sister Muriel were very supportive to me.
  • Amelia Earhart
  • Her first "flight" was when I was just seven years old, with the help of Muriel and her uncle she made a homemade roller coaster. After crashing dramatically, she told her sister that it was "just like flying".
  • She was known for the first women to make the flight across the Atlantic. In 1935, she became the first person to fly solo from Los Angeles to Mexico City to Newark, and New Jersey. She also setted a new altitude record for women flying her plane as high as 14,000 feet.
  • Interesting facts about her:. Amelia went by nicknames Meely and Millie. Her little sister was called Pidge.. She broke many records including being the first person to fly solo from Hawaii to California.. Amelia is also famous for disappearing in 1937 somewhere in the South Pacific.
  • People should also know that Amelia Earhart wrote and gave speeches about flying and women's right.
  • "The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is it's own reward."--- Amelia EarhartThat quote is important because it tells you that you can do whatever you want to, no one is telling you what to do.
