Storyboard Text

  • Pleased that his reputation had followed him, Daedalus agreed to build the labyrinth with the help of his son, Icarus. The pair built and incredible labyrinth and when it was finally finished, the Minotaur was captured.
  • Once the Minotaur was dead, Theseus fled back to the Athens with King Mino's daughter beside him. Daedalus was surprised by the hero's sudden departure and worried that he had made a terrible mistake.The furious king threw Daedalus and Icarus back into the labyrinth. He was outraged that Daedalus would dare to put his daughter in danger and Daedalus not having planned his route, he became lost in the labyrinth
  • Weeks later, Daedalus was approached by a man named Theseus. He explained that he planned to kill the Minotaur but that he needed Daedalus' help to navigate the labyrinth. Daedalus agreed and King Minos' daughter joined them.
  • However, Icarus, captivated by the sun's warmth and beauty and his newfound freedom, soon forgot his father's warning and began to soar higher until the heat from the sun became too much for the wax which held the feathers in place.
  • With no wings Icarus began to spiral down towards the sea. He hit the surface with crash a crash and was never seen again.
  • One day Daedalus, distracted by a flock of birds, had the brilliant idea to make their own wings in order to escape.He called for Icarus and said to him "Go and collect every feather you can find" by sunrise both Icarus and Daedalus had a pair of wings. Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly close to the sun for the heat would melt off the wax which held feathers in their wings together.
