Storyboard Text

  • Yes, that does sound agreeable.
  • Frenchmen, we must solve this financial crisis, and restore our former glory!
  • Why do they all receive equal vote when there is nearly twice as many of us than them?
  • But Sire, that isn't fair at all!
  • Every Estate shall receive one vote on every issue we discuss here today.
  • Should the majority of people not have more power?
  • We demand an equal say!
  • It is no matter, the majority will be heard.
  • These doors are closed off to the Third Estate!
  • Companions! We are being unfairly excluded by our country's superiors. But we will create change to this. We will stay here at all costs until we have created a new constitution, a new hope for the common people.
  • Aye!
  • My friends, it is done. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen. We have finally created a better life for our citizens
  • Spread this news, and watch the effect this has on our countrymen.
  • Tear down this symbol of oppression and abuse! Arm yourselves for the Revolution!
  • Back in Paris, the Bastille Prison, July 14th.
  • The Palace of Versailles, 12 miles outside of Paris.
  • We starve while you feast!
  • Feed your people!
  • Who holds the most power now that the peasants have shown their power?
  • The Jacobins have taken control since the events in these recent years.  You are lucky to grow up in an environment of change and prosperity in France.
  • This new regime punishes anyone that dares speak against them.
  • These Jacobins are ruthless! They may be worse for France than the King ever was!
  • But as the years went on, Augustin came to realize that not all change is good change.
  • Father, Husband, Citizen
  • The number of executions goes up by the day!
  •  They did not even spare the King or Queen. Robespierre will stop at no lengths for control.
  • But as abruptly as the Reign of Terror began, it ended. The new leader was a military man.
  • Napoleon Bonaparte
  • How can France become better? Our countries leaders have only gotten worse. Our finances are disappearing again overseas in wars.
  • I can only hope, like my father before me, that our countries future will be all the brighter from this dark period.
  • Augustin became cannon fodder for Napoleons military conquests. Augustin would perish in battle before seeing Napoleon be exiled.
