Hi! I'm Ben. Come along with us to explore and learn about food source, shelter, communities, and trade in the Neolithic Age.
Hi! I'm Josh. We'll also tell you why these changes are important.
Back in Paleolithic times, people obtained food by hunting animals and gathering wild plants
I don't need to risk others lives and mine to hunt animals such as bears for food. We learned to domesticate and raise animals. I spend my time herding and shepherding our cows and sheep.
I learned to grow crops by collecting and planting seeds of plants. This is called agriculture. Control of our food supply helped us to stay in one place. So you won't find me wandering place to place in search of plants for food
Back in Paleolithic times, people traveled in a group of 20 to 60 men in search of food. Also, people were nomads wandering place to place and built temporary shelters.
Nomadic life? Not anymore. Now that we discovered agriculture, we built permanent rectangular shelters made of packed mud bricks with floors to store food and fire pits for cooking.
Permanent shelters and agriculture enabled us to settle together in a community for a long period of time.

Back in Paleolithic times, people's jobs were to find enough food to survive.
We developed new kinds of jobs such as cloth making and flint mining used to make sharp tools. We trade with other people for resources that we don't have in our area.
These changes are important because People have control over their food supply and less people are killed or harmed from hunting animals
Back in Neolithic times, people exchanged items they have for other resources that were not available in their area.
Trading existed in Neolithic times and our time today. However, goods were exchanged with other resources that people need during Neolithic times. Today, buying and selling can be done worldwide and we use money to buy goods and resources that we need .
These changes are important because permanent shelters provided protection from harsh weathers, animals, and made life more comfortable. Living in communities made it possible for people to organize themselves more efficiently. They could divide up the work of producing food and other things they needed.

Thanks for joining us on our adventure.
These changes are important because adding different jobs added much greater variety to community life. Trading allowed people to obtain resources they don't have in their area.
We exchanged items that we created from our crafts with other items that other people have such as Obsidian, flint, and shell ornaments.
These changes are important because it makes the trading more efficient and people can buy or sell their items worldwide in exchange for money.
