- Around 494 BC, we began to fight against the rule of the patricians. We called it "Conflict de comenzi." Over the course of around 200 years we gained more rights. Then we protested by going on strike.
- In 451 BCE Rome's laws began to be written down in the 12 Tables. These were hung in the public setting, and became the base for later Roman law.
- In 367 BCE we gained the right to be consuls. The Consuls were elected annually.
- In 287 BCE the we won another important political victory. The Council of the Plebeians was given the right to pass laws for all Romans, all male citizens were now considered equal. Unfortunately a few wealthy patrician families still held most of the power.
