Many people were frustrated by the many tax laws in place for the people living in British controlled land in North America. These laws included the Stamp act, the Sugar act, and the Tea act. Which eventually led to the Boston Tea party. Many people living in British colonies felt they were being taken advantage of because Britain was in debt at the time.
I can't believe all these acts like the stamp act! Why do the British, who aren't even here in North America, get to control what gets taxed!!
I know right! Why does the British government get to control us from overseas get to control us by making us put stamps on things like documents, deeds and licenses? I wish we had our own representatives so we could fight back.

The Boston tea party was a significant event in the start of the American Revolution and there were around 116 people, including Sons of Liberty, throwing fortunes of tea overboard. This was done to protest the Tea Act. Which is how the British controlled the supply of tea. Many of the protesters were also dressed as mohawks.
Get rid of our Taxes!
Damn the Taxes!
Stop taking advantage of us!
Go sons of Liberty!!

The leaders of the Continental Congress found it difficult to unite themselves as a whole. This was because each colony had its own legislature. As well, many people still had close ties with Britain making it harder to organize attacks against the British because of the fear of losing ties with Britain. After all, once they started fighting Britain, they would lose all economic ties.Meaning colonies couldn't back out.
How will we be free from Britain? It seems impossible
It may seem impossible, but we are united by a cause. To gain freedom
