Due to the accident, we have invited an LTO representative to educate us on road safety measures.
Keep your distance. Be aware of stopping distances and leave enough space between you and the vehicle in front. Be alert and anticipate traffic situations. Observe and anticipate other road users and use your mirrors regularly.
Don’t drink and drive. Any alcohol, even a small amount, can impair your driving.Use safety belts at all times, even when you’re in the back. In a collision, passengers and the driver can seriously injure or kill themselves.
Avoid distractions, especially mobile phone use. Making or receiving a call, even using a ‘hands free’ phone, can distract your attention from driving and could lead to an accident. Not following all these safety tips can cause vehicular accidents. This can be explained through Laws of Motion
During a car crash, energy is transferred from the vehicle to whatever it hits, be it another vehicle or a stationary object. This transfer of energy, depending on variables that alter states of motion, can cause injuries and damage cars and property. The object that was struck will either absorb the energy thrust upon it or possibly transfer that energy back to the vehicle that struck it. Which is why it is important to always follow these safety measures to ensure safety and avoid serious vehicular accidents.
