I don’t get it grandpa, why does God hate us so much? We have no money left and no permanent roof over our head. I don’t think I even believe in God. There’s no point anyway. He wouldn’t do this to his children.
I can understand why you feel that way son. Believe me, I’ve been there. But you can never lose that faith that binds you to God. You see, humans are a creation of God. Meaning, life is supposed to be considered.a gift and must be treated as such.
How is our life supposed to be treated as a gift? We literally have nothing!
You see, the key is to never lose faith. Faith involves risk, process and darkness. Trust is important because there’s no guarantee about where our faith in God will lead us. You also have to make sure your faith is ongoing. You can’t have faith one day when things go right and lose it the next if something bad happens. And darkness. There are times when our faith disappears or weakens. That’s where you’re at now. You can’t let the doubt cause you to deter from your relationship with God. Your time will come.
It's still hard grandpa. I don't know how you do it. I feel like my feelings are always getting in the way.
And that's perfectly normal. You see, humans have passions and feelings. It's the way God made us. They incline us to act or not act and are part of human nature, creating passageways to our senses.
Yeah, I heard abut something called sacramental dullness and sacramental awareness. I think I'm dull due to our living situation. It's steering me away from God.
Right. sacramental dullness is when one is unable to perceive the sacred in life. due to busyness or pain and suffering. Our goal needs to be sacramentallyaware. where we're able to see God in everything that exists, despite our painful conditions.
What helps you grandpa? Staying on the path of faith? Or do you always just believe?
