  • Who's The Best
  • Once upon a time, in the Savannahs, the animals gathered for their monthly meeting.
  • The elephant being the most intelligent, suggested.....
  • Suddenly there was a clash between them to decide who was the best amongst them
  • let's have an award titled 'I am the Best'. This would be given to the animal who has the best of the adaptations to survive in this jungle.
  • the animals leave to prepare for the debate next week with full excitement and enthusiasm
  • let's meet again next week and each animal would tell their adaptations one by one.....
  • On the D- day
  • Let's start with our dear Fennec Fox
  • Hello friends... My bat-like ears radiate body heat and help keep me cool in the desert heat.I have long, thick hair that insulate me during cold nights and protects me from hot sun during the day.My feet are hairy, which help me perform like snowshoes and protect me from extremely hots sand........
  • My feet are also effective shovels for frequent digging as I Iive in underground dens.I have developed the ability to go for long periods without water.
  • then came the chance of the zebra....
  • My stripes allow me to "dazzle" camouflage- it breaks up my outline and makes it harder for predators to pick out the shape of individual zebras & to judge distances. It also confuses certain parasitic flies.
  • We have large, high-crowned grinding teeth, since many of the grasses we eat feature a high silica content that can wear down teeth. We live in herds, the stripes help break up their outlines, making it harder for predators to pick out the shape of individual zebra.
  • Now comes the giraffe
  • My long neck allows me to browse leaves off the tops of grassland trees, helping me avoid food competition from other herbivores. My neck can be up to 6 feet long. It also provides advantage for spotting predators. My tongue is well-adapted to acquiring leaves in the savanna. It is the strongest of any animal and is exceptionally long at 18 inches. It is prehensile, allowing for accurate use......
  • We have a thick coating of glue-like saliva in our mouth. It protects us from injuries from sticks and thorns as our favourite food is Acacia trees. We acquire much of our water needs from food and from morning dew. We are also able to go for long periods without water and can gulp water up to 10 gallons of water at one time when needed......
  • Our patterned spots and light tan to dark brown coloring help camouflage the animal in the grassland environment.
  • Now was the turn of the elephant....
  • Our massive size is a great anti-predator adaptation- we are invulnerable to attacks from wild animals. Our trunk helps us to reach food high up in branches and also to get food and water on the ground. Itis also used to make calls and other sounds to communicate with one another and warn our herd about any potential threats.
  • Our tusks are used to strip bark and soft wood off trees, It also helps us to survive through dry spells, as we use them to bore down into the earth and find water in dry riverbeds. Since we're unable to sweat, we flap our large ears to help us cool down in hot conditions.
  • And finally, the cheetah........
  • We have a long and slim body, muscular legs and a small head, compared to our body, streamlining it to run after prey. We can reach a speed of 70 miles per hour and can cover 115 feet in just about two seconds. So I am the fastest animal on earth.
  • We have fur that is golden yellow to pale orange in color. This allows us to camouflage easily in the brown grasslands of the savanna while stalking its prey. Our brown spots also keep us camouflaged while stalking prey.
  • Now was the time for taking decision on the winner..
  • No animal is big or small. We all are the Winners!!!CHEERS TO ALL OF US!!!!!
  • After a lot of discussions it was decided that.....
