- First Settlement attempt
- Our first settlement will be here in Santa Ana hill under the name of Santiago de Guayaquil.
- Second Settlement attempt
- Our second settlement will be in the order of Francisco Pizarro who is in peru at the moment so our second settlement will be here and will be named Santiago de quito
- Third Settlement attempt
- I Diego de Almagro ordered Sebastián de Benalcazar to move the city to the coast to secure the position of the Ecuadorian coastal region for the Spanish troops
