- In this part of the book, Lina and doon are running away from the guards. they had finally figured out the way out of member but they didn't know how to tell the others because no one would believe them.
- Only The Beginning
- In this chapter, Lina failed to run away from the guards' wall she was waiting for doon she had found a way to escape when the guards were distracted by the big crowd of people.
- The Notebook
- Doon leaves the school and is on the way to the river when the lights go out. He lights one of the candles which provides enough light to help him find his way to the door of the Pipeworks.
- A New City
- The chapter where the river goes, it's talking about when doon,lina and poppy were in the dark river. they couldn't see anything all they heard was poppys crying. at first, the water in the river was very rapid and fast but as they went deeper it slowed down.
- WHOOSHCRASHBANG
- In the chapter after they finely found some ground, they had also found a note cover by glass on the wall. they read the note and it was from the builders but you could tell it was very old. o the note is said 'to the people of member you heading the write was there is a log walk head of you'
- In the chapter the A a new city, they found the place they where looking for. The person that lived there showed them around her name was Rand. she showed them things they had never seen like birds. But rand was very curious where they had come from when they explained everything about ember she was shocked she had heard of the story of the city of ember when they were kids but never thought it was true. she had helped them find a way to get a note back into ember explaining everything that had happened and that they want them to come to this city.
