Here the children are getting ready to get onto the coach. The driver is wanting to search the children for food and drink, however, Mrs. Kay lies and explains to him that they don't know what it tastes like because they are so unprivileged Mr. Briggs is also decided he is joining them and is trying to get the children under control.
They are on the coach, eating, and drinking, make a mess of it, as Mr. Briggs is shouting to all of the children and explaining how they will behave and how they can have fun, even if your behaving well.
The children stopped off at a shop to strech their legs. The teaches stayed outside and the children went inside to buy sweets. Instead, they started stealing them.
Before the children went to see the castle, they decided to stop off at the zoo. The children acted like animals themselves and by the time they left, they nearly got kicked out. When leaving, they got caught trying to steel the animals.
After the zoo, they finally get to the castle. They all split up into different groups, but the children just run around wild. After viewing the castle, they go down to the seaside, where they find Carol has gone missing. Luckily they find her, but standing on the edge of a cliff. She threatens to jump, but Mr. Briggs persuades her not to. After hours of fun at the castle, they all get back on the coach to go home, but Mr. Briggs suggests they go the fair.
At the fair Mr. Briggs acts like a completly differentperson, but when they arrive back home, he goes back to his old, strict self.
