  • I want to play a video game. Do you want to play with me?
  • Yes that's a great idea! Sharing your thoughts with me makes me feel included. I like adventure video games.
  • A conversation is a back-and-forth interaction between people to share wants, needs, thoughts, and ideas with words. In a conversation, it's important to take turns speaking, so everyone has a chance to share their thoughts and feelings. When I take turns in conversations, it makes me and everyone feel included and helps build friendships.

  • I'm listening carefully to Red Titan. His words make me think of helping each other play the game. I'll wait for my turn to tell him.
  • I like adventure video games too, but its been a while since I've played one.
  • That's okay! We can help each other get through the adventures.
  • When someone else is talking, I can listen carefully. Listening carefully can help me think of an idea to say next. If I have something to say, I can wait my turn to speak.Sometime's people may speak at the same time by accident; I can say "sorry you go first" then wait for my turn.

  • I feel like this conversation is going too fast. I want to take a turn, but need some time to think. I can tell Red Titan I need more time to think about what he is saying then talk.
  • Okay lets start! First we need to pick our characters for the adventure
  • This character looks like our friend Peck. Peck is awesome. I want to be this character. Who do you want to be?
  • I might need a little more time to think or talk. Other people might need more time too. That's okay! I can take my time and give other people space to take their time too. If the conversation feels like its going too fast, I can ask for a pause or a break to gather my thoughts.
