  • The Winter at Valley Forge (1777)
  • It was a camp that was held from December 19th ,1777 to June 19th,1778 for George Washington's Continental army .
  • Slide: 2
  • George Washington's Quarters
  • This was George Washington's quarters, where most of the army stayed. During the winter people started to die and get diseases and they also didn't have much food or clothing for the army.

  • Soldiers Quarters
  • 2,000 huts made by the soldiers that they lived in but they didn't have very much food or clothing so some ended up dying to starvation.

  • Problems Faced by the Soldiers #1
  • The soldiers had very little food and clothing and some soldiers died due to not getting enough food or water or freezing to death.

  • Washington sent general Wayne to New Jersey to get some food for the soldiers and because it started to warm up disease started to spread and killed 2/3rd of the 2000 who died there.

  • Training with Baron Fredrick von Steuben
  • He helped training the soldiers all though he didn't speak any English he had interpreters that would talk to the soldiers and then once the soldiers learned everything those soldiers taught the others.
